Baloise takes great care to protect your privacy when processing your personal data.

Baloise takes great care to protect your privacy when processing your personal data. We process your personal data in compliance with the Swiss law on data protection and in accordance with the following principles:

Transparency regarding data collection and processing
When you visit our websites, our web server routinely stores your Internet protocol address, the website from which you accessed ours, the web pages you click into, and the date and duration of your visit.

Cookies
The Baloise Group sometimes uses HTTP cookies for interactive page elements to facilitate customised services (session handling). Depending on the browser you use, you can deactivate these cookies. However, the functionality of the program may be severely impaired without HTTP cookies.

We explicitly assure you that any HTTP cookies will only be stored in the working memory for the duration of your visit to our website. Subsequently – i.e. when you have closed the browser – they will be irrevocably deleted.

Use and transmission of personal data for specific purposes
Your personal data is only used for a purpose which is either indicated when the data is collected, readily visible from the context, or legally required. It may also be used for internal marketing purposes.

We oblige our employees to maintain confidentiality, observe the law on data protection and – in the case of banking services – to maintain banking secrecy. Your personal data will not be passed on to a third party without your consent.

Right to inquire about and amend personal data
At your request we will inform you in writing whether any personal data of yours is stored with us, and if so, what data. If, despite all our efforts to keep our data correct and up to date, erroneous information has been stored, we will amend it on your request.

Data security
Please note that the Internet is a global, open network. When you transmit data through the Internet, you do so at your own risk. Data transmitted by you is protected by means of Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which provides 128-bit encryption.

Despite comprehensive technical and organisational security measures, data may be lost, intercepted by unauthorised persons and/or manipulated. The Baloise Group takes appropriate technical and organisational measures and precautions to prevent such occurrences within the Baloise Group system. Your computer, however, is beyond the reach of the Baloise's IT security measures. It is therefore up to you to obtain the relevant information and apply appropriate security precautions.

Denial of access
Should security risks be identified, the Baloise Group reserves the right to suspend access to its websites until the risk has been eliminated or, in serious cases, to block access altogether. The Baloise Group cannot be made liable for any losses or consequential losses sustained as a result of access being suspended or blocked.

Support for questions on data protection
Please contact our data protection officer if you have questions on this data protection declaration, require further information, have suggestions, or would like to register a complaint.

For questions regarding data security, please contact our IT security officer.

Scope of application of the data protection declaration
This declaration on data protection applies to all Baloise Group websites. Our websites may contain links to other providers who do not come under the scope of this data protection declaration.
