Flexible working models
Most of our employees can arrange their own working hours flexibly. Our part-time working programmes and job-sharing models offer employees additional possibilities for individual work planning and improving work-life balance. Many of our people also take advantage of the opportunity to use unpaid leave or part-time working schemes for older employees to flexibly adjust their total working hours to their personal circumstances and requirements.
Attractive parental leave programme
Depending on how long an employee has had a permanent contract with us in Switzerland, we can offer them between 130 and 250 calendar days of maternity leave on full salary. New fathers also benefit from five paid paternity days when their babies arrive.
Bal4Kids – the crèche operated by Baloise Insurance for children from the age of eight weeks to school-age – is located just five minutes from our Group headquarters in Basel. We also provide financial support for the accommodation and care of your children. Nearly two-thirds of our employees are under 45, which means it’s very important to them to be able to manage both their family and their career. We take this need very seriously, and we back things up with specific measures.
We want you to feel good at Baloise and stay healthy. Our flexible working models and the Baloise culture are two factors in your favour. We also send you to play a sport – if you want to. The Baloise Sport Club offers 14 different types of sport, from football and floorball to yoga, golf and winter sports. Once a year, we all head to the mountains, when the whole company goes skiing for the “Basel Snow Days”. Team spirit and networking are included!
Corporate health management
Health is a big subject and one that matters greatly to us. From stress management to vaccinations, we care about your well-being. There are exercise and relaxation courses as well as heavily discounted massages available in-house.
We are also wholeheartedly committed to caring for our colleagues, who are supported through serious illness, and we organise measures to reintegrate them into their working life afterwards.
In recognition of our efforts here, we were awarded the “Friendly Work Space ®“ seal of quality by Health Promotion Switzerland in 2010 – and again in 2013 and 2016.
