The magazine "Schweizer Versicherung", together with the University of St. Gallen, the Swiss Brokers Association and EY Switzerland, awards the Innovation Prize annually. Baloise was awarded the prize this year. The exceptional cooperation with various start-ups was the decisive factor. Together with the start-up KASKO, Baloise has developed online object insurance for smartphones, tablets and bicycles and successfully launched the first Swiss cyber insurance for private individuals and on-demand holiday insurance. In cooperation with snapsure, it was also possible to develop watch insurance using photo recognition, making Baloise the first insurance company in Europe to take out insurance for valuables using photo recognition.
The cooperation with the start-ups gives us great agility and opens up new fields of activity for us.
"We are extremely pleased about this award and would like to thank our great cooperation partners KASKO, MOVU and snapsure", says Philipp Marty, Head of Product Management Property/Casualty at Baloise Switzerland.
Baloise also went one step further in its successful cooperation with start-ups and acquired MOVU AG in August. On movu.ch, Baloise offers comprehensive moving and household insurance, which represents an important step towards platform business. The customer can now find all services related to moving and living on one platform.
"The co-operation with the start-ups grants us large Agilität and opens us new fields of activity. The Innovation Award shows us that our performance is highly regarded within the industry, which naturally makes me very proud of the work of our employees and partners," says Wolfgang Prasser, Head of Product Management Private Clients at Baloise Switzerland.
