Between January 2014 and March 2016, Julia Wiens was the appointed actuary at Basler Sachversicherungs-AG. From October 2009 to June 2014, she was head of the non-life actuarial department at Basler Versicherungen. She began her career in 1994 at Securitas Gilde Lebensversicherung in Bremen, which was merged with Basler Germany in 2003.
The appointment still needs to be approved by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
