The Baloise Group is more than just a traditional insurance company. The changing security, safety and service needs of society in the digital age lie at the heart of its business activities. The best possible customer service, combined with innovative products and services, makes Baloise the first choice for people who want to feel ‘simply safe’. Located at the heart of Europe, with its head office in Basel, the Baloise Group is a provider of prevention, pension, assistance and insurance solutions. Its core markets are Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. In Switzerland, the Group also operates as a specialised financial services provider, offering a combination of insurance and banking services. The Group offers innovative pension products to retail customers throughout Europe from its competence centre in Luxembourg. Bâloise Holding Ltd shares are listed in the main segment of the SIX Swiss Exchange.
With the launch of the ‘Baloise Swiss Property Fund’, Baloise successfully placed an issue volume of CHF 275 million. Investors in the fund include, among others, pension funds, banks, asset managers and family offices. This offering represents an important milestone in implementing Baloise Asset Management’s strategy for its third-party business. The Baloise Swiss Property Fund offers investors the opportunity to participate in the development of a growing real estate portfolio with a focus on residential properties and high-quality locations.
The Swiss Property Fund is aimed exclusively at qualified investors. The property fund was fully paid up on 1 October 2018 and is fully invested, as it was set up with a broadly diversified initial portfolio of 35 properties from Baloise’s existing real estate portfolio. The selection of properties reflects the real estate portfolio of Baloise in Switzerland. “This allows the fund to offer an investment opportunity that generates a return from day one, while minimising the risks at the same time with a broadly diversified portfolio,” says Dieter Kräuchi, CEO of Baloise Real Estate Management Ltd.
