At the Baloise Group’s Investor Day on 29 October 2020, FRIDAY presented its plans for the period to 2025. In order to be able to generate faster growth and increase profitability, the digital insurer is further expanding its platform and market presence. To this end, Nate Glissmeyer and Robin Latz are joining the company’s management team. Nate Glissmeyer is taking on the role of Chief Platform Officer in FRIDAY’s management team and will be driving forward the expansion of the digital product portfolio and the insurance platform. Robin Latz will take on the management of the German branch of FRIDAY and will be responsible for the company’s business in Germany.
“Baloise has great ambitions for growth for FRIDAY. Nate and Robin are two highly experienced professionals who will strengthen the management team and use their excellent digital and insurance know-how to play a decisive role in achieving the ambitious goals of Baloise and FRIDAY,” says Baloise Group CEO Gert De Winter.
FRIDAY demonstrated its commitment to promoting innovation and products when it opened an additional technology hub in Warsaw in 2020. With the help of a team of internationally experienced experts and under the guidance of CTO Tristan Schuler, FRIDAY was able to implement a cutting-edge insurance platform in record time. These technological capabilities show that the company has the potential to grow rapidly.
Nate Glissmeyer previously performed a variety of managerial roles at Amazon Inc. in Seattle from 2004 and successfully managed technology and product teams within the e-commerce giant’s organization. As Director of Product Management, he oversaw the market launch of a variety of innovations that are still being used by millions of Amazon customers every day. Glissmeyer’s last role before joining FRIDAY was that of Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology Officer and member of the Management Board of HolidayCheck Group AG in Munich. “Nate Glissmeyer has been spearheading the development of innovative technologies in e-commerce. He has helped to make digital platforms and products successful with millions of people around the world. This experience will directly inform FRIDAY’s offering for customers,” says Christoph Samwer, CEO of FRIDAY.
“In addition, FRIDAY wants to continue to grow rapidly and aims to achieve a fivefold increase in gross premiums written to €150 million over the next five years. Its performance in the German market will be key to achieving these goals. We are therefore delighted to have Robin Latz on board as a highly competent manager for the German market. He will be able to draw on his extensive experience to lead the German business to profitability by 2025,” adds Samwer. Robin Latz is an insurance management specialist who can look back on more than a decade of professional experience in various roles at Allianz and Zurich Insurance Group, where he developed product offers and ensured the long-term profitability of the portfolio.
