By signing these principles, we and other insurers undertake to systematically incorporate aspects relating to the environment, social responsibility and responsible governance across our entire value-added chain in activities with all stakeholder groups. The principles specify that each signing company shall set individual targets, formulate specific measures and regularly report on their progress.
With our dedication to the PSI, we want to contribute to the principles as voluntarily arranged guidelines within the industry which are globally recognised. We will consistently apply the principles in our planning and continue implementing our strategy for sustainable, long-term value creation and develop it further with these principles in mind.
At the heart of every insurance policy is a supportive community, which is also the basic condition for the sustainable development of our society. Solidarity is required to form partnerships and to overcome the huge challenges currently faced by humanity. We will only be able to overcome challenges such as climate change and social injustice if we become unflinchingly involved and move in the same direction as individuals, countries, companies and industries – the direction of a liveable future for all.
Signing the Principles for Sustainable Insurance will not only influence our activities as a business, but also strengthen the ability of the whole insurance industry to implement joint measures and efforts for sustainable development.
After signing the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in 2018, we consider our commitment to the Principles for Sustainable Insurance to be the logical next step to assume an active role in the sustainable development of the insurance industry.
