Occupational health management

With our wide range of occupational health management services, we work together to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Our occupational health management team is committed to the health and well-being of all employees. The focus is on maintaining physical and mental well-being, increasing motivation at work, and preventing avoidable stress and crisis situations. We also support our colleagues in difficult times, such as during serious illness, and organize targeted measures for successful reintegration into working life.

Ergonomic consulting

No more back pain? We can't promise that. But good posture and a properly adjusted office chair can help a lot. You can get advice on this from trained ergonomists at your workplace.

Hotel Spitzhorn

Sometimes you just need a change of scenery or a little extra pampering. As a Baloise employee, you can find both at our own Hotel Spitzhorn in Saanen, at greatly reduced rates.

Learning culture

There is a lot going on here. And of course, when things are being implemented, things can go wrong sometimes and that's okay. Because it is precisely these moments that enable us to learn, grow, and break new ground.

For us, it's clear that sharing knowledge and supporting each other are the keys to our success. In our dynamic work environment, you can learn a lot on the job and benefit from the valuable experience of your colleagues. You can also see how important continuous learning is to us in initiatives such as:

Dialogue

Our environment is constantly changing, and continuous learning is required in all jobs. That is why our managers and employees are required to engage in regular dialogue about strategy, performance, behavior, and development. In addition, a development dialogue takes place once a year, focusing on personal development. Whether specific career development goals or new skills – the dialogue offers an opportunity to discuss the prospects of employees at Baloise.

Baloise Campus

At Baloise Campus, we offer a range of comprehensive leadership development programs that give you the opportunity to take a deeper look at yourself and your leadership responsibilities in order to grow as a leader at Baloise.

At Baloise, we share the basic understanding that leadership responsibilities can result from managing a team or unit (disciplinary responsibility) as well as from responsibility for a project, product, or functional team (non-disciplinary responsibility).

You and your colleagues from all countries and divisions can expect coaching, group work, and an exchange of experiences with our top management.

LinkedIn Learning

Our employees have unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning free of charge. This learning platform gives us all access to over 15,000 video courses from leading industry experts, available around the clock and from any device. It has never been easier to acquire new knowledge or expand existing knowledge in a self-directed and interest-based manner.

Shadow for a Day

For a day or a few hours, our employees look over the shoulders of other colleagues, bombard each other with questions, and accompany each other in their work. This can take place anywhere. Perhaps a customer service representative would like to get a taste of claims inspection and understand what happens to a claim report after their conversation with the customer, for example.

Change of Perspective

With us, you can stay with the company and still start afresh: thanks to temporary, internal job changes. You switch from one job to another within the company for a limited period of time, with the opportunity for further development for everyone involved.

Work-Life-Balance

You are more than your job. With our flexible working models, we support the balance between work and leisure time and move forwards together.

Flexible working models

Work is an important part of life for us, and that’s how it should feel: alive. We create an open atmosphere and look for individual models that give you space for yourself.

This is what we offer you:

  • Flexitime
  • Flexible working
  • Remote work and working from home
  • Unpaid leave
  • Job sharing
  • Maternity leave that exceeds statutory minimum requirements
  • Partial retirement

Our work culture

Personal dialogue and teamwork are particularly important to us – they’re what make Baloise what it is. That’s why the office is our main place of work. At the same time, we offer you flexibility: remote work and working from home are possible depending on the work situation – usually around 40 per cent, if necessary up to a maximum of 60 per cent (with a 100 per cent degree of employment).

Parental leave

The first few weeks with your baby are unique – and we want you to enjoy this time without any worries. As a permanent employee in Switzerland, you’ll receive between 100 and 160 days of maternity leave with continued salary payment, depending on how long you have been with Baloise. We also support new fathers with two weeks’ paternity leave.

For gainfully employed adoptive parents, we also create space for this valuable family time: if the adopted child is under the age of four, you can take two weeks’ adoption leave.

Childcare

Striking the right balance between work and family is important to us. That’s why we have our own company day nursery, where your children are looked after and supported in their development. You’ll find Bal4Kids just five minutes from our Head Office in Basel.
