Simply Safe was the banner under which Baloise launched its new strategy. The strategy set out our ambition to strengthen our core business while responding to the changing needs of society by providing innovative solutions that extend beyond traditional insurance.
We successfully completed the first phase of Simply Safe in 2021.
In Season 2 of Simply Safe, we will be looking to build on what we have achieved so far so that we can carry on making a positive contribution to our customers’ lives and playing an important role in people’s lives.
Our objective with Simply Safe is to keep Baloise on a path of sustained growth. Customer focus is at the core of the new strategy.
We want to remain the first choice for people who want to feel ‘simply safe’ – both today and in the future. But it’s not just about covering and insuring risks; it’s about addressing the wider needs of our stakeholders in a changing society.
We have a clear focus on three ambitious objectives in relation to employees, customers and shareholders as we continue our strategic journey towards sustained profitable growth.
With this strategy and a strong focus on customers and employees, Baloise is emphasising that aspects of sustainable business management cannot be viewed in isolation from the commercial management of a company.
Insurance arose from the idea of mutually supportive communities. The strength of a mutually supportive community for the purpose of insurance lies in the fact that it is more than the sum of its parts. However much care is taken, the individual is exposed to risks that can be better handled and managed in the community through the sharing of risks and costs. Naturally, this only applies if the community of insured persons is organised effectively and efficiently. We are therefore always aware as an insurer of how important it is to take responsibility and put our actions at the service of sustainable development. Nothing about this has changed at its core since Baloise’s founding in the 19th century. Insurance companies are still based on a community of insured persons. As Baloise, we coordinate and manage this community and look after it in the interest of the various stakeholders.
